We are a FAIRTRADE Church

Outsiders might think it’s a town, but speak to the locals and you’ll soon discover that Kidlington is very proud to be a village. It’s a big village, that’s for sure…one of the largest in the UK, and it boasts its own airport, industrial estates, business parks and even a police HQ. But it’s a village nonetheless, with all the sense of ‘community’ that you’d expect to find…and at the heart of that village is Kidlington Methodist Church, situated on the main A4260 Oxford to Banbury road.
This friendly church, part of the Oxford Methodist Circuit, is the focal point for a whole range of community activities ~ from youth groups, to carers groups; coffee mornings to the occasional concert.
Our mission is simple: to love God; to love one another; and to love our neighbours, whoever and wherever they may be.
Church member Alan Walton was recognised in the New Year Honours list for his voluntary work with St John Ambulance.
The retired school teacher, who has completed nearly 50 years service with the charity, was made an Officer of the Order of St John at a prestigious ceremony in London.
It is the second time he has been honoured by the Order. In 1993 he was invested as a Serving Brother -- an award which, like his latest, was approved by the Queen. Said Alan: “There are three things in my life that I am proud of: teaching, my wife and family, and joining St John ambulance. I am honoured that I have been recognised in this way.”
